Who is RASA?
A Merseyside charity, RASA has been supporting thousands of people across our community with their experiences of sexual violence through modes of ‘crucial specialist support, independent advocacy, counselling, help and information’. (RASA website) The value of their work is unquantifiable and now they need our help. There is an urgent appeal as they have a £100,000 deficit in their funding for this year. With cuts in funding and huge rises in the cost of living, they have been ‘forced to make impossible decisions that jeopardise the wellbeing of survivors who rely on us for help’. (RASA website) So, through our collective, Commonality Grrrl, we must show up for our community.
Our Aims
Initially we would like to run guided collage workshops that we turn into riso prints. Working with and raising money for RASA via the ticket sales of the workshops and the reselling of the collage riso prints. We would like to run these workshops on a regular monthly basis, with the hopes that these workshops become a safe space to heal, share and just enjoy something fun with the attendees. Similarly to how the original Riot Grrrl’s did it, we want to show up and rock feminist activism in a positive and constructive way.
We intend for tickets and the prints that are made, to be sold at a low cost to ensure accessibility. Additionally, we will be selling some tickets at a reduced cost for people on a lower income, we really want this to be for everyone. Alongside these prints, we are also producing a zine that will feature all the designs. Every penny raised from this project will go directly to RASA, with the dual purpose of generating funds to support their vital work and increasing public awareness of the charity. By making the artwork both affordable and engaging, we hope to reach a wider audience and encourage more people to learn about and support RASA’s mission.

Take care of yourself - and when you can - others around you.
We are Commonality Grrrl working in collaboration with RASA. Our collective goal is to make something worthwhile out of our collective pain, including but also beyond the healing process. In a state of sharing to grow as independent, strong with our universal aggressive attitudes against sexual violence.
